As you may have established my style is very feminine, usually colour coordinated and usually veers from bright colours or subtle nudes.
This week I'm in love with high-waisted, loose shorts for the summer. This is a bit unusual for me as I have been a skirt-orientated person for the past two years, but as summer approaches I wanted to experience something different!
I've already bought my staple black high waisted black shorts which can take me through those moods when I want to emphasise my top half, rather than my bottom half, but I love shorts as a statement piece as well, mm. My bank balance has proved that!
Now I don't like denim shorts (urgh, denim. I refuse to wear anything denim.) But I do love some of this (and last) season's shorts.
Here are my favourite ones at a reasonable price:

RUSSIA
I ask you: when have you ever had a conversation about Stolypin's agrarian reforms? Or the Bruslitov Offensive (I don't actually know what that is, but it's THERE, written in my notes)? Or even the Crimean War?
And if so, HOW did you have this conversation without boreing yourself to death?
I want to kill myself already and I've revised for approximatley 33 minutes. Many of which were staring at the clock.
I must say though, I've fallen in love with Russian fashion. I.e. Those continuing Russian dolls which go on and on? Though I don't really think Russian people wear them. Which is sad. Wouldn't it be cool if we all dressed like our country? German people dressed as sausages, the French dressed in black with a cigarette, a beret and a baguette, Russians with communist hats and russian doll accesories, Swedish people in viking gear... Anyway I'm digressing. (And being perhaps a bit stereotypical).
But yes... dolls and what not. What cool accesories, non? I even have a Russian Doll bag I discovered in Primark (made from Straw as well... killing two birds with one stone, etcetc). I couldn't be bothered to take a picture and have found it on eBay. IT'S £8 ON EBAY! I bought it for £4. I should be on Bargain hunt. Anyway, isn't it amazing?
And with further searches I have found MORE delights concerning Russian Dolls. If you see the following one, from ladyluckrulesok, they've put Anastasia on it! How very Russian of them. Well. Apart from the fact that's the only famous Russian woman which most people could think of, who isn't a model in the 21st cenutry or a dictator. I doubt having "Lenin" or "Brezhnev" would've had the same affect really.
Chanel also made one and now lots of high street brands are frauding them. Tutut. and by frauding, I mean, copying. In a good way, though. Because now they're cheaper... and I don't really like the Chanel one anyway. The Telegraph described it as "Chanel Starts a Russian Revolution", and you have to admit, that's pretty witty. I've actually just read through this article and will attach some of the best ones.
I want that ring. A LOT.
Yup, I just spent an hour or so researching Russian Dolls. Could I get away with talking about that in my history exam? Er...

What I wore this week.
So this week I went to Manchester for a ball. I wore this on the train journey up there.
The playsuit is last season's Topshop and I'm actually wearing it the wrong way around. I didn't realise this until I bought it. Some fashion follower I am. Anyway I think it looks better with the buttons. I thought my red tights were genius, personally. Not sure what the train goers thought, but I suppose I brightened their day? (literally).

cupid arrow's just for you
I've started writing short stories again, how incredibly creative about me. All my stories seem to have the same sort of theme, though. They are all in the first person, and a person suffers some sort of disaster so they then decide to take the next flight out of England and see what happens. A few months ago it was a Bristol University student who felt disillusioned with life so fled to Mexico. Now it's a currently underdeveloped character who's ended up in Sweden. I don't know why I write these short stories, really. It's not as if anyone will read them. I remember my 30,000 word epic when I was 12 about a princess in the roman times who had an affair with a servant called "Bradus". I clearly couldn't think of any names and liked a person called Bradley at the time, hahahahhaohgod.

statement necklaces; time to shine?
As I was browsing through youtube I discovered Kelis' new video. Indubitably what she wears during most of the video is beyond disgusting. 2:37 is a prominent exemple. But what struck me the most was the necklace at the beginning (pictured above)... I'd genuinely never considered necklaces as having such a resounding impact on an outfit and tend to stray away from accessories. Well this has changed! Here are some of my favourites from my internet travels. Enjoy.

Reko for Topshop
How beautiful are some of these dresses? I know many are out of season now; but that doesn't mean they aren't relevant. Au contraire.
Reko for Topshop demonstrates everything I like about clothes. I love the accessibility of their dresses: they can be worn by any woman; of any figure, and still embrace femininity. The collection also combines a melange of different periods of fashion. The result? Something new, and yet something so old. Really they're nothing new in a fashion-forward sense, but their collection knows what's good.
For someone who looks so stupid in the maxi dresses floating around at the moment, these will probably be my staple summer wear. Here is my current bargain from the collection thanks to a glorious Topshop sale. Ignore the mouth. It's the mirror's fault, honest.

Un jour
I'm going to live in Paris, smoke a lot, drink a lot, wear nice clothes, go to nice restaurants, spend my times in cafes and spend my evenings speaking french with a variety of beautiful french men.
But for now, I'm sitting here in a completley average town in south east England.
